General Information About Visiting the Monument


To visit the Washington Monument you must obtain a timed ticket by calling 877-444-6777 or at recreation.gov. There is a $1.00 service charge per ticket.

Tickets are made available

  • 30 Days in advance

10:00 AM each morning


or

  • 24 hours in advance

10:00 AM each day for the next day


You can also obtain Same-Day Tickets at 8:45 AM each day. Same-Day Tickets are first-come, first-serve, and run out quickly.


Tip: Register at recreation.gov the day before you try to get your tickets and be at your computer or on your phone ready at 9:58 because tickets normally sell out in 5 mins.


When visiting the Monument, you must adhere to all safety and security procedures, which include no pets or weapons allowed on the premises. You may take photos outside of the monument, but photography and videography inside are prohibited.
